Terms of Service
Last updated: 13 October 2026
These terms apply to your use of Ludium (ludium.ai), a free educational website and independent project based in South Australia ("Ludium", "we", "us"). By using the site you agree to them. Contact: hello@ludium.ai.
1. The service
Ludium offers free courses: videos, companion pages, problem sets, coding exercises and optional AI feedback. It's provided free of charge and may change, pause or end at any time. If paid features are ever introduced, they'll come with their own terms, and you'll agree to them before you are charged anything.
2. Accounts
- You don't need an account. Creating one syncs your progress across devices and gives you a monthly allowance of free AI feedback (section 3).
- We don't verify email addresses. If you register with an address you can't receive mail at, you won't be able to reset a forgotten password, and we can't recover the account for you.
- Keep your password to yourself. You're responsible for activity on your account.
- You must be 13 or older (16 or older in the EU and UK).
- We may suspend or delete accounts used to abuse the service.
3. Free AI feedback
- Registered users get a limited number of free AI feedback requests each calendar month (problem feedback, notes critiques, coding hints and exercise grading all count). The current allowance and what's left are shown next to the submit buttons. An allowance resets at the start of each month (UTC). Unused requests don't carry over.
- Free feedback is a discretionary courtesy, not an entitlement. We may change the allowance, the AI model that provides it, or which features it covers. We may also suspend or end the free service, for everyone or for a particular account, at any time and for any reason (for example cost, misuse or the service being discontinued), without notice or compensation. When it's unavailable, you can still use your own API key (section 4).
- Each account is for one person. Don't create extra accounts, or share or automate an account, to get more free feedback. We may suspend free feedback or the account if you do.
4. Your AI API key
- Instead of free feedback, you can use your own API key from Anthropic, Google or OpenAI. When you choose "Submit with my key", that request uses your key and doesn't count against your free allowance.
- Charges: every request is billed to you by that provider. The cost estimates shown on the site are approximate.
- Provider terms: you're responsible for following the provider's terms of use.
- Key security: you're responsible for keeping your key safe. Don't enter a key on a shared or public computer.
- How the key is handled is described in our Privacy Policy.
5. AI feedback is not always right
AI feedback is generated automatically and may be wrong, incomplete or inconsistent. It supports your learning. It doesn't replace your own judgement, your instructor's, or official grading. Nothing on Ludium is financial, legal, medical or other professional advice, including the finance courses.
6. Course content and licences
Much of Ludium's course material is adapted from openly licensed sources, including MIT OpenCourseWare (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0), Mastering Bitcoin (CC BY-SA 4.0), Linear Algebra Done Right (CC BY-NC 4.0), OpenStax (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0) and public-domain texts. Each course names its source and licence at the bottom of its home page. Our adaptations of those works are shared under the same licence as the source. Elsewhere, the site's design, code and original material belong to us. You're welcome to use everything for your own learning.
7. Acceptable use
Don't:
- attack, overload or scrape the site, or get around its rate limits or free-feedback allowance;
- use the feedback endpoints for purposes unrelated to the course material;
- upload anything unlawful, or anything you don't have the right to share; or
- try to access another person's account or data.
8. Your submissions
Your answers and uploaded work remain yours. You allow us to store and process them only as far as needed to run the service, for example to show your history and to send them to the AI provider that produces your feedback (ours for free feedback, yours when you use your own key).
9. No warranty; limitation of liability
The site is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we make no guarantees that it will be available, error-free, or suitable for any particular purpose, and we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss. That includes charges on your API key, the free-feedback service changing or ending, lost progress, and exam or course outcomes.
Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law, or under other laws that can't be excluded.
10. Changes and ending
We may update these terms. The date at the top will show when they last changed, and if you keep using the site after that, the new terms apply to you. You can stop using Ludium and ask us to delete your account at any time.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of South Australia, Australia.
